Absolutely gorgeous park on a mountain top. Plenty of seating and picnic benches and a playground. Parking can get a bit cramped. Well worth the drive up though.
Beautiful, rocky, hike with 2 well-marked routes to the peak of a 3000' mountain, with a commanding view of the countryside. Dry trails even with rain the night before, but be sure to wear sturdy shoes. Plenty of parking, with a shelter, the stone foundation ruins of some old building, and playground at the base.
Great place for a hike to the summit of Mt Kearsarge. Plenty of picnic tables and a couple of pavilions, but some of the facilities are in need of attention. Port-o-lets have been set up right outside the bathrooms for years.
Don’t let anyone tell you that that hike is easy. It might be easy for a 15-year-old but not for a 66-year-old who is scared of heights. However it was worth it because the view at the top is beautiful.
Recently hiked up to the top of Mt Kearsarge from the south side. You can drive up Kearsarge Mountain road just half an hour or less from the top. We took my 6 month pregnant sister and two dogs. All of them were able to handle the trail though the are semi steep slopes and rocks along the way. Great views with little effort.
